It’s all happening! June 2025

Welcome to my blog! Let’s get the awkward introductions out of the way; hello, I’m Sarah, and I’m the founder and lead therapist at Evergreen CIC. We aim to be up and running and offering services from the end of July, it’s so exciting! Keep your eyes peeled for updates, or contact us if you’d like to find out more.

I’ve been working in a wonderful therapy service in Ipswich since 2020, and I can’t wait to bring my knowledge and expertise closer to home in Halstead and Earls Colne. 2020 was a rough time for a lot of people, and I include myself in that. We celebrated my daughter’s first birthday with all of our family, and then the world suddenly shut down. A week before father’s day our beloved Staffy Buster had to be put to sleep, and his daily walks had been a lifeline in our very isolated days. Suddenly everyone’s lives changed, and lot of really important things got lost along the way; families lost loved ones, the security of school and work was gone, we lost friends, connections, money, our sense of safety and place in the world. I was incredibly lucky that I continued to work with my therapy clients, and know that I was so privileged to do so. I was able to offer them a safe harbour in a storm, a place where they could be scared and be worried, and not feel like they had to hide that anymore. For a lot of people the worry of being a burden or too much for other people to handle means they keep everything inside, and that’s where therapy comes in - you can bring us those feelings, and we won’t judge you, we won’t rush you through them, and we will sit beside you through it all. The therapy room is a safe place for you to feel and think through all those things that normally feel so awful, or like they’re going to ruin everything, and you will be listened to fully.

Therapy is an investment in yourself and your future. That’s part of the reason I chose Evergreen as the name of the service, because therapy brings about growth and resilience, and investing in yourself means you have to believe this is possible. An evergreen will hold onto its leaves until the new growth is there, then it sheds the old leaves that it no longer needs, much like humans and our brilliant brains do. We can recognise the patterns in our lives and how they’re not helping, and we can let them go. This growth means that those bumps in the road that used to feel like sinkholes are now potholes that are far easier to navigate.
