A community service tailored to suit you and your needs.
Evergreen CIC is a Community Interest Company, a social enterprise dedicated to improving mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide accessible mental health and wellbeing services. Whether through direct support, education, advocacy, or in partnership, we aim to create a more equitable and connected society—where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Why We’re a CIC
As a Community Interest Company, we reinvest our profits back into the communities we serve. This model ensures that our work stays mission-driven, people-focused, and accountable to the needs of those we support.
Our Vision
We envision thriving communities where people feel connected, supported, and empowered—regardless of their background or circumstances. At Evergreen CIC, we believe that small, consistent efforts can lead to lasting, transformative change.
Our Story
Evergreen was founded in 2025 by Sarah with the goal of creating a community wellbeing service available to everyone. Sarah has worked as a psychotherapist since 2018 in the private sector, and has seen the profound impact access to therapy has had on individuals and families throughout Suffolk and Essex. Not only does therapy help to build resilience and help to release old habits we’re holding on to, it helps to strengthen bonds between families and their wider networks and creates a greater sense of belonging and agency. Sarah’s goal is to make therapy accessible for everyone.
We’re also incredibly lucky to have our Non-Executive directors, Sam and Carmen. Sam is an advanced nurse practitioner with a wealth of medical knowledge under her belt, and working in the local area gives her a vast amount of knowledge and experience when it comes to the needs of families and individuals. Carmen has worked for many years within Essex County Councils family services and is familiar with the strains put on the NHS and mental health services, and the ongoing struggles faced by the system.
Together, we're building a service that supports everyone, no matter their background or circumstances.
Our Services
Personalised mental health care
At Evergreen, we believe that everyone, of any age, deserves to be heard, respected, and understood — just as they are. Whether you're 11 or 25, a parent or a grandparent, your thoughts, feelings, and experiences matter. You’re not expected to have everything figured out, and you don’t have to go through things alone.
We know that life comes with its own set of challenges — from school pressure and friendship struggles to depression, anxiety, or family issues. That’s why we’re here: to offer a safe, confidential space where you can be yourself without judgment.
Our counselling approach is all about you. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we take the time to get to know you — your strengths, your struggles, and what you need to feel heard. Whether you’re coming in with something specific or just want someone to talk to, we’ll meet you where you are.
You are the expert in your own life. We’re here to walk alongside you, listen, and help you make sense of whatever you’re facing — in your own time, in your own way.
The Psychodynamic Approach
Psychodynamic counselling is a therapeutic approach rooted in psychoanalytic theory. It focuses on exploring how early life experiences, unconscious processes, and past relationships influence current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. The aim is to bring these underlying patterns into awareness so that individuals can understand themselves more deeply and make lasting changes.
Therapists help clients explore unresolved conflicts, defence mechanisms, and recurring relationship patterns, often by examining the client-therapist relationship itself (known as transference).
Efficacy
Research supports the effectiveness of psychodynamic counselling, especially for issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Studies show that its benefits often continue to grow after therapy ends, due to its focus on deep self-understanding and long-term emotional growth. While it may take longer than some short-term approaches, its depth can lead to meaningful and enduring change.
